Sutton and her husband reside in Oklahoma City with their two “fur kids,” Okie and Winnie. The duo headed TEAM OKLAHOMA and raised $200,000 for “The Go Mitch Go Foundation.” GMG is an Oklahoma-born non-profit raising money for leukemia and lymphoma research. KFOR’s team coverage of the Moore tornado won an National Emmy. She was featured in a storm chasing article for “Popular Mechanics” Magazine. Sam Anderson profiled her storm chasing experiences for “The New York Times Magazine” and blog “The 6th Floor” in August 2013. Her storm chasing gained national recognition with video showcased on CNN, MSNBC and The Weather Channel. Since distinguishing herself while storm chasing live during the historic May 2013 tornado outbreaks, Sutton continues to cover significant storms firsthand for KFOR-TV. She is the only meteorologist in Oklahoma with both seals. Sutton is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) by the American Meteorological Society and has been awarded the National Weather Association (NWA) Seal. In 2013 she promoted to weekday mornings.

She started on air a few weeks before Oklahoma City’s largest snowstorm, the “Christmas Eve Blizzard,” and has been experiencing Oklahoma extremes ever since. He is working toward his goal of climbing the highest point in all 50 states.Emily Sutton joined the 4Warn Storm Team in December 2009 as KFOR-TV’s first female meteorologist. He also loves to travel far and wide, often in search of a mountain to climb. Outside of work, Mike enjoys indoor rock climbing and catching the latest show at Cain's Ballroom. He also serves as a leader for several local initiatives regarding food justice and cross-cultural emergency preparedness. He serves on the board of the Disaster Resilience Network and the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mike is heavily involved in the community. He has pursued storms in over 15 states across the country and relishes every moment he gets to witness the extremes of Mother Nature.

In addition to covering severe weather from the studio, Mike is an avid storm chaser. He is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist through the AMS. Since then, Mike has been a member of the American Meteorological Society, currently serving as the local chapter president. In 2008, Mike earned his meteorology degree, graduating cum laude from Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Before that, he covered weather in the Mid-Atlantic states from Hagerstown, Maryland. From tornado outbreaks to winter storms, he has forecasted it all in Tulsa since April 2011. Mike is a native Tulsan and thrilled to continue his career in Green Country here at FOX23.
